Mind Body Therapy AdolescentsTeens and tweens experience their emotions in their bodies as much as in their minds. Teens and Tweens are not naturally inclined to sit in a chair and open up about what is troubling them. Integrated Mind-Body therapy is an effective way to heal, learn coping skills, resolve any issues of anxiety, depression, stress, poor body image, low self esteem, attention deficits, concentration issues and many other concerns without having an adult stare at them and ask questions. Yoga (breathing exercises, meditation practices, some poses, mantra, and more) are taught and integrated right into the session to resolve emotional issues where they feel them in their bodies helping them understand the mind-body connection and giving them tools so they feel empowered to manage feelings and thoughts that cause distress. The sessions may consist of a custom yoga practice that allows the Tween/Teen to move, discuss, and resolve concerns and issues as they naturally unfold while practicing yoga postures. Because all emotions are stored in our bodies, this process is effective, beneficial and enjoyable and the the tween/ teens feels the changes immediately. However, the sessions are crafted specifically for each individual student- some benefit from more movement and some from less- sessions are custom so the tween/teens gets what he or she needs. Your tween/teen will gain skills and strategies to resolve and manage their concerns and difficulties. Age 10-17
