Mind Body Life Alchemy offers a variety of yoga classes to meet your desires and needs. All classes are taught by highly qualified and wonderfully unique instructors. If you are a beginner I recommend Stretch and Relax or Hatha or Gentle Flow yoga. If you have any questions or concerns about practicing yoga or if it is right for you please contact me.
Classes change on the schedule seasonally so that you can align your yoga practice with the natural rhythms & needs of the seasons. For instance, we offer more Restorative Yoga in the Fall and early winter to support Vata energy of the season (there is a depleting, drying quality in the season). We practice more warming and invigorating yoga in the winter to support Kapha (cold, wet and heavy season) and a cooler slower practice in the summer to support Pitta (when you are all fiery) Yoga at Mind Body Life is holistic and mindful. It is steeped in yoga traditions and ancient wisdom and not based in trends or fads. The classes are always mindful, skillfully themed and crafted, and designed to benefit you in mind and body. Gentle Yoga Flow "Best class ever", "my favorite yoga class!" That's what they say about Gentle Flow Yoga. A slower-flow based class with extremely beneficial poses. This class moves mindfully so there is opportunity to make adjustments to enhance the benefit of the poses. Build strength, flexibility and balance and end with restorative poses and deep relaxation. It’s not easy, but it’s gentle. Perfect for beginners or anyone who needs some gentle but effective mind and body work.
Yoga Flow Level 2 class- some prior yoga experience is beneficial to get the most out of this class. A delicious Vinyasa style class that creates energy and inner peace through a focus on breath linked with movement. This class will connect strength, flexibility, and balance practices with the fine art of letting go. Powerful breaths will enhance the mind-body clutter clearing. This class will undo muscle tightness or stiffness and help you develop strength and flexibility so you feel better and have more energy throughout the day. It will end will restorative poses and deep relaxation to enhance the mind-body benefit.
Yoga Fitness Fusion Long and Lean muscles anyone? Yes, Please! Yoga Fitness Fusion is combination of yoga and fitness. We will flow through yoga poses with a focus on those poses that build strength and tone your muscles. At times we may use small weights to enhance the resistance or increase the intensity. Excellent for toning arms, core, and legs. You will improve your posture and physical endurance, and increase your metabolism. Join us and take your fitness and health to the next level. Side effects include: increased energy, stamina, improved mood and concentration, and a desire to sign-up for 5 & 10K's.
Slow Flow Yoga Slow Flow Yoga is a slow paced, mindful, yoga flow. We practice slowly with smooth transitions from pose to pose for ample opportunity to get into good alignment and maximize the benefits of the poses. This practice will allow you to go deeply into poses releasing tension and tightness and gain peace and comfort in mind and body. Slow Flow Yoga will challenge and improve strength, flexibility & balance. All levels are welcome because you control the intensity- beginners can practice lightly and advanced students can explore their edges. Modifications and adjustments will be offered along with breathing and meditation practice.
Stretch & Relax Moving into the top spot as our most popular class, Stretch and relax has two objectives: to stretch and to relax. This class moves mindfully through head to toe poses- every part of your body will awaken and release tension and tightness. We practice energy balancing pranayama (breathing) and end with a mindful meditation. The class is intelligently sequence and modification are always available so that you feel your best.
Flow, Restore, & Meditation Join us for this all levels yoga class to flow through delicious yoga poses stretching muscles increasing flexibility and ease of movement. Soften into restorative poses to let go of any built up tensions and stay for a guided meditation to let go of stress and gain mental clarity and sharpness. You will love this experience.
Yin & Restore Yin & Restore Yoga- is an opportunity to balance out your regular active "yang" yoga practice. In simple yet effective supported floor poses, you will reach beyond the superficial muscles and release deeper connective tissues and fascia within the body. As we age, joint flexibility deteriorates and Yin offers a chance to really listen and attend to your body. We hold poses for 3-5 minutes while relaxing and enjoying meditative music. You may walk out feeling as if you had the worlds best massage.
Teen/Tween Twist 11-14 yr olds Twist Yoga is yoga with a tween/ teen twist. Tweens & teens are becoming more physically and mentally mature but they are still kids. We will move around a lot in this class and mix in energizing short flow sequences and balance poses, with calming breathing exercises. They will undo sitting in school all day, let go of pressures and expectations to perform, and learn to let go of social pressures by turning their attention inward and trusting their internal voice. This class will improve strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and endurance. It will also increase focus and attention (good for homework later), self-confidence, self-esteem, and a positive self-image, oh yeah, and it will be fun!
Private Yoga Sessions
Would you like to move through a custom, unique yoga practice to meet your mind-body needs? A private yoga session is a great choice. You can use this appointment to learn and practice yoga poses, pranayama (breathing) or meditation. You can use this appointment to establish a home practice that is right for you.
